What is “Lemmy is Blog”?
The name of the music blog is “Lemmy is Blog”, which is a play on the cult classic movie Airheads quote, “Lemmy is God”.
All Vanzig Studios content resides here in the music blog section. You can search this page by category such as Artists or Vanzig Records. You can also search the music blog by tag which can be genre, year or various other detailed terms. A category is basically the glossary, whereas the tag, functions as the index.
What Kind of Music Blog is this?
The content of this music blog will range from our personal opinions, which we call Earspunk to various album reviews & gear reviews. In addition, if there is some music culture news trending we may drop our perspective in the news section. Read below about how the content is organized.
Earspunk!
Blog posts in this category is our opinion, food for thought posts. These topics can be something as general as “live in person contacts will create better results than focusing on social followers and streaming numbers”, or as specific as “what you really need in a guitar tuner pedal”.
News
Blog posts in this category will be our perspective in whatever music news is currently trending. For example: Adele catching shade for taking the podium and exclaiming she is proud to be a woman at the first non gender music awards. Why not dig in and give an opinion on this. This category will not be solely focused on the rock, punk & metal genres, but open to all genres.
Podcast
When a new podcast episode goes live, a blog post is associated to it including various links. These posts will be an expanded version of the show notes. I want to be able to do a deep dive on each band in order to bring as much exposure to the artist as possible.
As of 2023 it is decided to put the podcast on hold as far as taking time to reach out to those who would like to talk. The platform will be left up and possibly used in the future. If an artist wants to setup a call and pimp their album I would be interested in recording an episode, but we are not actively seeking. The music blog is the primary focus.
Reviews
New albums, EP’s & gear will get some love. Carly and I are always listening to new releases whether a band that’s been around for 30 years with a new record or new band with a debut release. Plus we’re always experimenting with equipment whether music related or a piece of tech that helps us put Vanzig Studios together.
If you are interested in Vanzig Studios possibly reviewing a new release, new gear or participating in the podcast then please fill out the contact form and we’ll review the request.
Please Make Suggestions
Please feel free to reach out and suggest topics to write about or possibly create a video about. If you have a specific question regarding how to use software, gear, touring etc… we want to know. If there is something you think we should do better also please let us know. If there is a tool you think would help us please let us know. Just hit us up using the contact form & we’ll take it to heart.
Going Forward
Sometime in the near future video will be added this music blog giving insight & tutorial structured content. The plan is to build out a YouTube channel and to have all the latest videos posted on this page so you can view all our content in one place.
It would also be really awesome to have an enhanced music blog with a chat/community interface baked into the site where everyone can help each other & forge networking relationships. I am currently looking into possibly using Discord or Slack to pull this off.
Either way I would like something community based conversation through VanzigStudios.com.
